The Development Corporation's Economic Developer Receives the Marshall E. Dimock Alumni Award from UVM

Plattsburgh, NY –May 19, 2009 – Erin M. Hynes, Economic Developer at The Development Corporation, Clinton County New York (TDC), received the 2009 Marshall E. Dimock Alumni Award from the University of Vermont’s Master of Public Administration program on Saturday, May 16, 2009. The award honors the scholarly and professional achievements of an alum of the UVM-MPA degree program.
The Marshall E. Dimock Award is named for one of the nation’s most notable public administration scholars as well as a key supporter of the UVM Public Administration Program. Marshall E. Dimock was committed to the advancement of the study and practice of public administration through his teachings and scholarly work.
The award was presented to Ms. Hynes in recognition of her outstanding academic and scholarly activities, commitment and vision, professional achievement and advancement of ethical principals within public administration. In addition to being presented with the award certificate at the Graduate reception last Saturday, Ms. Hynes’ name will be engraved on the Marshall E. Dimock Award Plaque displayed in the MPA Program offices at UVM.
Hynes is a 2000 Alumna of the MPA Program at UVM. She worked in the state legislature in Albany, most recently as the Director of Public Policy at the Assembly Minority Conference before moving back home to Plattsburgh and accepting the position as Economic Developer for TDC. She brings an array of professional experiences and research expertise to the Corporation. Furthermore, she is to assume the role as Assistant Director of TDC’s new data institute next month.
