Clinton County is located in the Champlain Valley of New York State, on the western side of Lake Champlain. The western portion of Clinton County lies against the foothills of the majestic Adirondack Mountains. This location affords the perfect venue for easy access to the recreational activities of Lake Champlain, including sail boating, power boating, fishing, ice-fishing, water skiing and sight seeing, as well as access to the many scenic rivers of the area. The High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains are a short drive to access activities such as hiking, back-packing, skiing, skating, cross-country skiing, wildlife observation and sightseeing, canoeing, kayaking and a wide array of other outdoor recreational activities. There are also a large number of competitive and recreational athletic events such as road & bike races and triathalons seasonally.
