Between its independent activities and work as the administrator of the County of Clinton and Town of Champlain Industrial Development Agencies (IDA's), The Development Corporation has been responsible for much of the industrial development in the region.

Of the approximately 4.5 million square feet of industrial space and 102 industrial buildings built since 1980 in Clinton County, The Development Corporation has been involved in:

  • 1.9 million square feet of industrial buildings, or approximately 42% of this total new industrial space and 39 buildings, or 38% of the total industrial buildings built since 1980 in Clinton County.

  • Currently, approximately 2,000 employees in Clinton County are working in jobs brought here with the direct involvement of The Development Corporation.

  • The Development Corporation is guided by a volunteer board of directors of 42 community members who are dedicated to bringing jobs and prosperity to the North Country. The Board oversees a professional full-time staff of 5, including the only two Certified Planners (by the American Institute of Certified Planners) within the County.
