With a 45-year history, The Development Corporation (TDC) has long been dedicated to leading economic development in Clinton County. Its President, Adoré Flynn Kurtz is a member of the American Planning Association and is Certified Planners through the American Institute of Certified Planners. Ms. Kurtz is recognized as a Certified Economic Developer by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), where TDC is a member. Keith Matott, TDC's Facilities & Project Manager, is a Certified Building Inspector in the State of New York.
The Development Corporation is a member of the New York Economic Development Council, and Ms. Kurtz serves as the Council's First Vice-Chair. TDC is also a member of the Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce. The New York State Economic Development Council awarded the TDC website with its 2007 "honorable mention" for all state websites. In 2005, The Development Corporation was honored with the "Economic Development Partner of the Year" Award from the Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce. In addition, New York State Electric and Gas awarded TDC an economic development grant in 2006, which is being used to fund marketing efforts at Plattsburgh International Airport. The Development Corporation is also an active member of the North Country Alliance, a consortium of economic developers which provides resources to businesses looking to locate in the region.
